Management Team
Mark Gordon, Board member and President & CEO, joined the company in
January 2002 and is responsible for the daily operations and the strategic direction of
the Company. Mr. Gordon was elected to the Board of Directors in September of 2003. Mr.
Gordon began his career at Procter & Gamble where he was in marketing/brand management
for 10 years and eventually rose to corporate VP, responsible for the operations of the
$700 million Mexican business unit. Mr. Gordon has also worked as VP of Marketing for an
early stage telecommunications company, Broadslate Networks, and as senior VP of
Marketing/Strategy for Owens & Minor. Mr. Gordon holds B.S. and M.B.A. degrees from
the University of Virginia.
Kevin Miller, VP Finance, joined the company in November 1997 and is
responsible for the Company’s financial and accounting operations, as well as
oversight of warehouse fulfillment operations. Prior to joining Technobrands, Mr.
Miller provided consulting services focused on financial and operational process
improvement, as well as serving as a principal and manager of an optical equipment
manufacturer. He has formerly served as VP of Finance for RxTec, Inc. and as a
commercial lending officer for Sovran Bank. Mr. Miller holds a B.S. in Finance and
Accounting from Virginia Polytechnic Institute & State University and an M.B.A.
in Decision Sciences from Virginia Commonwealth University.
Stacy Hackney, General Counsel & Secretary, is responsible for general
legal matters and FTC compliance. Ms. Hackney joined the company in 2007. Before assuming
her current position, she served as Corporate Attorney for Dollar Tree Stores, Inc.
Prior to that, she worked as an attorney for McGuireWoods. Ms. Hackney received her law
degree from the University of Virginia School of Law and a BA degree from Wake Forest
University.
Dave Modena, VP Merchandising, is responsible for all merchandise
selection and buying decisions. Prior to joining the Company, Mr. Modena was the
Director of Non-Foods, Services, & Retail Business Development for Ukrop’s
Supermarkets. Before joining Ukrop’s, Mr. Modena held several merchandising
positions with Best Products including Director of Housewares. Mr. Modena has a B.S.
degree from the Virginia Polytechnic Institute & State University.
Chris Fawcett, VP Catalog, is responsible for all aspects of the
company’s catalog operation, including creative and inventory. Mr. Fawcett
returned to the Company in 2000 after 3 years with the J.Jill Group, a premier
catalog company in Boston Massachusetts. Mr. Fawcett held the positions of Marketing
Analysis Director, Circulation Director and Director of Ecommerce, while at J.Jill.
From 1994-1997, Mr. Fawcett was Technobrands’ Catalog Director. Prior to joining
Technobrands, in 1994, Mr. Fawcett held positions in the industrial engineering field.
Mr. Fawcett has a B.S. in Industrial Engineering and Systems Engineering from Virginia
Polytechnic Institute & State University.
Richard Sherman, VP Operations, joined the company in May 2003.
He is responsible for call center and customer service operations, information
technology, as well as Human Resources. Prior to joining Technobrands, Mr. Sherman
spent 15 years as VP of Human Resources for Southern States Cooperative, Inc., a $1.5
billion farm cooperative with 8,000 employees. Prior to that, he spent 10 years as VP
of Administration, Marketing and Supply for an independent oil refiner in Texas City,
Texas. Mr. Sherman holds a B.S. in Economics from Rider University and a M.A. in Human
Resources from the University of Houston.
John Fleming, VP Media, is responsible for all of the Company’s
Media and Email marketing. Mr. Fleming originally worked for the Company in 1991 as
a creative consultant. Following 6 years experience in media sales with Landmark
Communications and Continental Cablevision, he returned to the Company in 1997. Mr.
Fleming holds a B.A. from the College of William and Mary.
Bud Myers, Sr. Director Merchandising joined the company in April 2003.
Prior to joining Technobrands, Mr. Myers had varied experience in consumer electronics
as VP Sales & Marketing for Marantz, Frox Interactive, Craig Consumer Electronics,
Remington, and Unical (Northwestern Bell); and as national accounts manager for Casio
and Rayovac. He was VP of Delta Sales Corp, a regional CE rep firm, and has been
responsible for product positioning, development, and launch at those companies as well
as JBL, THX, Dolby Labs, and ADS. He has been a speaker at the Consumer Electronics Show
and has been a member of the Forbes Technology Panel. Since 1996, he has been seen
regularly on WTVR-TV, a CBS affiliate.
Carl Kramer, VP of IT , joined the company in 1993. He is
responsible for overseeing all aspects of Information Technology. Prior
to joining Technobrands, Mr. Kramer served 2 years as a Database Analyst for Philip
Morris, Inc., and 6 years as a Director of Application Development for Logicon, Inc.,
a leading defense contractor. Prior to that, he served four years as a
Programmer/Analyst Officer in the U.S. Air Force. Mr. Kramer holds a B.S.
in Computer Science from Virginia Polytechnic Institute & State University.
Hunter Donaldson,Director of Sales and Customer Service, is responsible
for the management of both the sales and customer service call centers. Mr. Donaldson
has served in a number of capacities with Technobrands since joining the company in 1997,
including Sales Supervisor, Customer Service Manager, and Sales Manager. Mr. Donaldson has
a B.S. in Marketing from the University of Richmond.
